Smiling George is Oscar the Grouch's friendly cousin (they can't all be perfect, as Oscar says). He is also the cosuin of Ernest & Otto the Grouch & their sister Bunny. He appears in the 1976 book How to Be a Grouch sitting in a trash can that has a smiling face on the back of the lid.
